Coach Josh

I’m a strength and performance coach with over a decade of hands-on experience in strength training and athletic development. I was the 2016 Canadian National Champion in Powerlifting (U23) and recently took first place at my local strongman competition. I refined my craft under some of Canada’s top powerlifters at Dynamo Barbell, which at the time was considered the strongest gym in Canada. It was there that I built a foundation rooted in precision, discipline, and long-term development.

I continue to grow at 3 Tonnes Gym in Gatineau, where I train alongside seasoned strongman professionals and learn directly from the best in the field.

Recently, I spent five years working in a large commercial gym, where while coaching clients I managed the education and on-boarding for a team of Personal Trainers. I was the top Personal Training enabler across Ottawa, Kingston, and Belleville in 2023—helping more people begin their fitness journey than anyone else in the region. That experience cemented my passion for guiding others toward real, lasting change.

Outside the gym, I’m an active runner, HYROX competitor, rock and ice climber, and mountaineer—currently completing the final peaks of the Adirondack 46 High Peaks and exploring the Rocky Mountains. I specialize in helping endurance athletes, climbers and outdoor adventurers build the strength, mobility, and resilience they need to keep doing what they love.

My coaching philosophy is holistic, sustainable, and rooted in real-world performance. Whether you’re chasing finish lines, climbing summits, sending a big wall, or just want to move through life stronger and more confidently—I’ll meet you where you’re at and coach you forward.
